What this covers

“Cookies” and similar technologies (like your browser's local storage) are small pieces of data a site saves in your browser. This page explains which ones we use.

Strictly necessary — always on

These make the shop work and cannot be switched off. They stay on your device and are not used to profile you:

• your region and currency,
• the contents of your collection (cart),
• your sound on/off preference,
• your cookie choice itself, so we stop asking,
• the country your request came from, so we know which privacy rules apply to you.

Analytics — only with your consent

Google Analytics (GA4), to understand how many people visit and which specimens they look at. It is never loaded until you agree.

Advertising — only with your consent

If you agree, we load the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram) and the TikTok pixel. They let us see which of our ads actually leads to a sale, so we can stop paying for the ones that don't, and they may be used to show you our ads again elsewhere.

When you consent, we also report the same events from our own server to Meta and TikTok (their “Conversions API” and “Events API”). This measures the same actions you already agreed to — it exists because browsers and ad-blockers hide much of the browser-side data. Any identifier such as your email is irreversibly hashed before it is sent, and both copies of an event share an ID so it is only ever counted once.

These are never loaded until you agree.

Consent, and where it applies

Strictly-necessary storage does not require consent. Analytics and advertising do, and we ask before loading either.

We ask visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, where opt-in consent is required, and whenever we cannot tell where a visitor is. Elsewhere — including Japan, where we are established — local law does not require an opt-in banner, so we do not show one; you can still refuse at any time using the link below, and we will honour that choice.

Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting, costs you nothing, and changes nothing about the shop except that we stop measuring. You can change your mind at any time via “Cookie choices” in the footer. Where we ask, we re-ask at least every 13 months.

Managing storage

You can clear or block this data at any time in your browser settings. Note that clearing it will empty your cart and reset your region and sound preference.
